Meet Your Neighbors West County (MYNWC):

The Meet Your Neighbors West County (MYNWC) program is expanding its proven neighborhood resilience approach in Sebastopol to West Sonoma County's rural communities, adapting the model to those communities’ unique geographic and social characteristics. Despite experiencing devastating wildfires and flooding, the region's rural character and dispersed communities have struggled with coordinated emergency response. However, well-prepared areas or neighborhoods are able to self-assess situations, make informed decisions about evacuation or sheltering and communicate effectively across their area and with emergency services. Every neighbor's ability to respond more effectively and recover more promptly to an emergency is improved through working together with those around them.

The mission of MYNWC uniquely addresses this improvement:

Develop neighborhood emergency preparedness and resilience that adapts to west county’s needs, priorities and a changing climate.
